I used to struggle time after time to get my music tracks to sound like the Pro’s. I knew that time after painstaking time I’d try to capture that magic sound, that unbelievable quality and that extra bit of Mojo they use; but fail in the process. Thankful I stopped one day and asked myself these questions. What are the Super Ninja Secrets that Songwriters, Music Producers and TV/Film Composers have know for years? How do very quickly and effortlessly create high quality tracks time after time?

Check out some of the songs that were created with Garageband Audio’s Loops and Construction Kits!

Indie Rock

Spy

I’ve had the privilage to work with and under some of the most sought after Musicians, Music Producers and TV/Film Composers in the world. I’ve watched like a hawk what they do and most important, why they do it!

In almost case I’ve found that creating at the speed of thought is the name of the game, that creating off the cuff and quickly enables you to capture that human element that everyone loves and never can get enough of.

So, how do you create quickly, off the cuff and still manage to make your productions rock? Here’s the answer, You MUST have unique, high quality, music samples and sounds loops. Another tip is this, live-played loops makes it a real joy to create quickly. Live- Played loops also add an amazing amount of realisism to your project.

So the question now to ask is this, why do tracks sound more alive and spontaneous when using live-played loops? Artists, Bands and Music Producers have always known that live musicians, with real instruments in world class studios will always give them the absolute best sounding tracks on the planet. So, in an ideal world, you would have at your disposal your own full-time session musicians to help you capture the heart and soul of your song. Here’s the problem, most artists, songwriters and bands simply can’t afford this luxury, it’s not only that it is just way to expensive; but the time it takes is a true commitment.

Please hear what I’m saying, listen super close, this is a secret I’ve distilled down from years of spying on the Best in the World…… The final outcome of your production is in absolute direct relationship to the quality of the music samples and music loops which are being used. Also, the uniqueness of your track is also heavily influenced by the uniqueness of the samples, loop performances and construction kits used.

So here is were Apple’s Garageband and Garageband Audio come into play. Garageband is absolutely one of the quickest, most efficient and effective ways in which to immediately get your songs and ideas out of your head and ready to be heard. But you must use quality Garageband Audio Samples and Music Loops in order to get Pro results. The Pro’s don’t skimp here and neither should you. The top artists and music producers understand and realize that nothing beats the true emotion, real passion, and the dedication of real musicians. The Pro’s know that the hits are always made with the highest quality samples and sounds loops add to your tracks is simply second to none!

One of the things that is just a blast to do with Garageband Audio is to take old tired loops and samples, audio files and sound loops and completely destroy and manipulate them. The best part about it is that nothing is off limits. Use a drums loops as your rythmic motive, make the guitar melody or guitar loops your beat ..So, lets start engineering our way towards geekness. You’ll need to start with a sample sound, sound loop, sounds loops; whatever genre and style that moves you…..make sure that these are cleared loops; meaning that they are royalty-free and cleared to be used in compositions.

Check out some of the songs that were created with Garageband Audio’s Loops and Construction Kits
New Orleans
Classic Rock

So there are a billion ways to change up music adn sound loops. You can alter the pitch, use eq to change the sound, delay effects provide an extreme amount of variation and many, many more. You could use your drums loops and run them through a fuzz box or distortion pedal, run your piano loops through a massive verb and only output the mix of verb…ie. no direct sound. Use the settings you never use, the ones you think are going to be complete garbage usually turn out to be the most unique and memorable. The only limit here is your imagination; so don’t limit yourself…..think outside the box, be different, be unique. Remeber, one of the main ways to create authentic and unique music sound loops and soundscapes is to really focus on the “sounds, textures; ect” your creating. Were artists here and artists love colors…so should you. Expertiment, take a chance; color it up!!!

Another secret I’ve seen both Music Producers and Musicians alike do with great success is to combine effects. However, please be very carfeul when doing this as things can get out of control very quickly; but hey, this might turn out to be a great thing?

A real fun thing I’ve done with a fare amount of succes is to import a movie file into to Garageband and use the video effects settings as your sound loops effects. Next you’ll need to get rid of the video and simply use the video’s effects to manipulate and color the music loops and samples. You can get some truely bizarre stuff like this. This is a great way to start building cinescapes. Then you can start layering sounds upon sounds loops and go for the truely unique.

Remember, experimentation is the “key to creating your own collection of unique and bizarre sounds. Start looking at the world like an artist and use musical colors to start creating unique masterpieces!!!

I’m going to just take a second and discuss what so many songwriters, bands, composers and music producers have been asking me lately. Man, this economy is getting me down, I’m a little low on cash and I need Garageband Sounds Loops. Where can I go to get “free” music sounds loops? Where do you go to get free music sounds loops?

Check out some of the songs that were created with Garageband Audio’s Loops and Construction Kits!

Blues

Punk Rock

Well, I say, this is actually is the easy part of the question.
Finding “free” loop sound and sound loops isn’t tough; there are tons
of places to go. The trick is you must realize that “free” is rarely
FREE !!!!! and that this must never be taken lightly.

So what do I mean? Well just because sound loops say there free
doesn’t always mean that it is able to be used legally free and clear.
Let me impress the importance of this on you. It is ALWAYS the
responsibility of the composer and writer of the song to make sure that
each and every music loop and sounds loops is cleared. This means that
if your writing, producing and composing music, then you must know
some musical copyrights and licensing terms.

When a Loop Sound or Music sample library says that it’s public
domain or copyright free it means that you as the composer of tracks
and songs, don’t need to pay additional royalties on the actual Loop Sound.
Please understand and be aware that for example you have a piece of
music “Star Spangled Banner” that is public domain and you want to use
this sample in your project. Even though the song is in public domain,
if the artist performing the version of the song isn’t
public domain ie. ” Jimi Hendrix” then the recorded
version of the song “Hendrix’s Star Spangled Banner” absolutely can’t
be used in your project. Another music copyrights term is “Creative
Commons”, this means that the author of the musical work has retained a
portion of the ownership and that you read the composers specific terms
and conditions in order to use the piece of Music Loop or song. I would
say that most artists are fairly open to granting you the rights to
their work, please check and be cool by giving them due credit in your
albums liner notes. Yet another misunderstood term is “Royalty Free”
Music. Royalty Free means
that you won’t necessarily need to pay money or a “royalty” after and
only after you pay the initial licensing fee. This is absolutely a
must that you pay this fee, it is extremely important to note this.
Lastly is the word “Royalties”. Royalties are the money that you must
pay if you use a piece of a song, Music Loop, Sound Loops or Loop Sound. Again, reading the “terms and conditions” careful should ensure that you are abiding by the set conditions and practices.

I must stop and say that there is a lot of
“free” material available ; but please be cautious and careful to use it only after understanding the authors terms.
Most of the time free Music Loops and Sample Sounds are completely
horrible. Sometimes you’ll find good ones if a reputable sample library company
is giving you free music samples as a part of their promotions.

Ok, so the secret of the Pro’s, the Super Ninja trick that makes the big dogs the money and allows them to sleep sound at night.

They always use pre-cleared, royalty free , high quality music loops and loop sound.
This is one of the main reasons why their tracks sound so Amazing. The
best thing is also that they are not worried about any copyright
infringement.

There are quite a few reputable Sample Sound Loops companies that
have high quality Music Samples. Read to make sure that all of the
Music Samples and Sound Loops are royalty-free and legally cleared.

I end by saying that I’m not an attorney, and that this article
should not be taken as legal advice. PLEASE do more investigating and
reading on Music Copyrights. Also, if your ever in doubt about the
legal ability to use a Sounds Loops you should make sure that it is
legally cleared. The author of this blog of Garageband Audio ALWAYS insists on using the highest quality, ultra unique, pre-cleared and royalty-free sample sound loops libraries!!!

Always experiment with music samples, have fun and be creative; but just make sure the sample sound loops are “free’

I’m going to just take a second and discuss what so many
songwriters, bands, composers and music producers have been asking me
lately. Man, this economy is getting me down, I’m a little low on cash
and I need Garageband Sounds Loops. Where can I go to get

“free” music sounds loops? Where do you go to get free music sounds
loops? Well, I say, this is actually is the easy part of the question.
Finding “free” loop sound and sound loops isn’t tough; there are tons
of places to go. The trick is you must realize that “free” is rarely
FREE !!!!! and that this must never be taken lightly.

Check out some of the songs that were created with Garageband Audio’s Loops and Construction Kits!
Blues
Punk Rock
